The UWF Computer Science Department has two options for majors: CS &
CIS
The CS (Computer Science) option includes the theorectical foundations of
computer science and the study of algorithms, data structures, software
engineering, computer architecture, and concepts of programming languages.
The focus is on mathematical and scientific applications.
The CIS (Computer Information Systems) option provides a firm foundation of
basic course work complemented by comprehensive instruction in the
principles of computer languages, problem solving, database concepts, and
software engineering applications. The focus is on business applications.
